Heather Trish, NCC, LPC, served as both a Counselor and Assistant Director for the 9/11 Mental Health program at Safe Horizon in New York City where she provided counseling services to individuals and groups affected by 9/11 as well as clinical supervision to staff. This included family members, evacuees, witnesses, the injured, downtown residents, displaced workers, and rescue and recovery workers. She worked as a Career Counseling Consultant at New York University's Graduate School of Business, as a Career Counselor at JP Morgan Chase, is the designated Trauma Clinician at Jefferson Center for Mental Health (JCMH), and serves as JCMH's Suicide Prevention Coordinator. 

Heather has accumulated over 15 years of individual and group counseling experience, providing services to individuals impacted by trauma including abuse, traumatic grief, domestic violence, rape, assault, suicide, vicarious trauma, kidnapping, robbery, and other community violence. Her counseling experience has included crisis counseling at domestic violence and sexual assault agencies, trauma work at private not-for-profit mental health centers, career and supportive counseling at large universities, and with downsized employees in a corporate setting. She regularly provides community education and trainings, grants management and organizational effectiveness services. 

In addition, Heather co-authored the chapter, “Healing After September 11th: Short-Term Group Intervention with 9/11 Families” in the book Violent Death: Resilience and Intervention Beyond the Crisis (Brunner-Routledge, Taylor and Francis Group, Philadelphia, PA, 2006). She holds an EdM in Psychological Counseling and an MA in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University in New York City and is a National Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors (#201141) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (#3996) in the state of Colorado. She has a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution at Columbia University and is EMDR Level 2 Trained through The EMDR International Association.

Appointments are scheduled to meet your needs.  Some weekend and evening hours are available.
