I specialize in helping people gain skills to help change behaviors that aren't working in their life. Often times these behaviors are so ingrained, you may think you don't have a choice to change, when in fact you do. You will learn to cope better with transitions, stress, grief/loss, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, anger and issues of addiction.
I will often have clients do homework to help enhance the therapy in between sessions. This may include reading specific books to help increase knowledge and skills, doing specific workbook exercises, keeping a notebook of specific difficulties that come up to bring to the next session so we can discuss what worked and didn't work, practicing new skills that you learn in session, etc.

Are you struggling with issues that are upsetting you on an everyday basis? Are you trying as hard as you can to get through a difficult time and the strategies you are using still aren't working? Are you having difficulty making important decisions and feeling overwhelmed? If any of these sound right, call me, I can help you. One of the theories I use is cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). This theory is well researched and has successfully helped people with feelings of depression, anxiety, trauma and grief. Gaining insight into your patterns of thinking can help you make positive changes in all areas of your life and significally improve your relationships.
CBT is based on the idea that your thoughts and underlying beliefs about yourself significantly influence how you feel and then behave towards yourself and others. I will help you see dysfunctional patterns in your thinking and learn new and effective ways to manage stress, depression, anxiety, addictions and relationship issues.
