The process of engaging in therapy not only happens during the appointment; rather it’s designed to translate outside of the treatment room.  My goal in working with individuals is to aid them in acquiring a collection of tools that promotes healthy, fruitful and rewarding lives.  I am dedicated to evaluating the needs of each individual, child, adolescent and family, acknowledging that each person is unique, with a number of strengths and weaknesses.  Furthermore, I work from a collaborative perspective, with an appreciation that therapy is most effective when the client and therapist work together as a team.

Dr. Ilene Kusens is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Qualified Medical Evaluator, providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults.  Dr. Kusens has been providing psychological services in the Los Angeles area for a number of years and has an extensive background in working with individuals of all ages and cultures.  Dr. Kusens has a breadth of experience in working in multiple clinical settings, including outpatient mental health centers, public and nonpublic schools and day treatment centers.  Moreover, Dr. Kusens specializes in conducting psychological medical-legal evaluations.  As a result of her training and working within these multidisciplinary settings, Dr. Kusens has developed a unique and successful approach to helping children, adolescents and adults foster desired change.
