Personal Comments:
Problems in our lives occur despite our best efforts to avoid them. When they happen, we can find ourselves overwhelmed, and our most valued relationships in distress.
The good news is that it doesn't have to be this way. Men and women who have learned to effectively access their endowed internal resources while using situationally-appropriate interpersonal skills are better able to lead empowered, informed and healthy lives.
I work extensively with men and women who have experienced repetitive patterns of failure in their love and/or work relationships. Using a highly individualized interactive process, I team with individuals and/or couples to help work toward overcoming those patterns and move into a greater measure of personal wellness and interpersonal success.
Because I believe your circumstance should be weighed on its own unique merits, I do not offer "cookie-cutter" therapy or assembly-line solutions. Depending upon your specifics, recommended therapy may include individual work, couples therapy, group therapy, gender-balanced work with a female therapist, or a combination of these.
Licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist, I hold a Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Health Psychology. I hold a M.A. in Counseling Psychology and a M.Div. in Pastoral Studies. I also have a Certificate of Professional Studies in Clinical Psychophysiology, and am trained in EMDR. I divide my professional time between my practice, clinical research on sexuality, and conducting professional workshops and therapeutic retreats.
