My interests have always been directed towards helping children, adolescents and adults to learn effective ways to solve life problems and reach their potential.
I graduated in 1971 from Arizona State University and spent the next 32 years working within the school setting as a teacher and administrator in Special Education. My educational background and experience includes extensive work with children and families assisting them to solve educational and behavioral problems.
I recieved my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology in 2003 to continue this work as a therapist. I am a Licensed and Nationally Certified Professional Counselor specializing in working with adults, adolescents and families.
I have been trained in EMDR-Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, which is an especially effective therapy with trauma and anxiety disorders. I am also a graduate of a two year program in Gestalt Therapy.
My special interests and areas of expertise are in assisting adults or adolescents to deal with anxiety, depression, loss or marital/relationship issues; child/adolescent behavior problems, adoption issues, adjustment problems, and assisting clients in achieving increased self-awareness.
