Hi! I know how tough it can be just to take the first step into the self-discovery process. You have already done that because this is it! Finding the right clinician for YOU is the most important step in the process. Interview us. Ask us questions. Trust your gut feeling about a person - it will usually be right. In order to have a successful experience in counseling, it must be the right person for you to work with.
Let me tell you a bit about my practice. I have been in private practice for over 8 years and have been counseling for 11 years. I am passionate about what I do. It is not a "job" for me - it's a calling. What I offer my clients first and foremost is a partnership. No one is the expert on you - except you. You may not know that right now, or trust that at the moment - but that's okay. That part is my job. My role is to help you find your own voice, develop the skills to have a happy, fulfilling life, and find your purpose and passions so you can realize your own dreams. It is ALL possible. It may take some tough work, but it is all possible.
I practice what I preach. My belief is that you cannot teach what you do not know. I walk my talk and my clients know that based on how I approach this process. I believe in each and every person that walks through my door. This is a life-long process of learning for all of us - but it does not have to be overwhelming. There is always help.
Over these 11 years, I have worked with teenagers, adults(20-65) and couples. Additionally, I have worked with parents and their teenagers - together on communication and connectedness during a tough stage of life for both parent and child.
Over the last year, I have taken on a partner for my work with couples. He is a Certified Life Coach - and a male. This male-female balance in our sessions provides for a wonderful addition to the process of couple's work. We actually have a lot of fun with our clients too! It may be hard work, but there is no reason for the process itself to be painful. We are both passionate and committed to helping people create loving, connected, happy relationships in their lives. There is no reason you can't have it! We have developed a unique approach to helping couple's that has proved to be the best work I have ever participated in. The vast majority of my work in the last 11 years has been with people like you and I who simply want to have a good life. People who want to get rid of issues that tie them down to the past, to continue old patterns, or block the process of moving forward. Navigating life is tough for everyone at one time or another. In my office I teach and assist my clients to find their voice, their strength, and realize their goals and dreams.
Overall, I can honestly say 90% of the people that walk through my door commit to the process once they have had their initial session. The vast majority of my practice is built on clients who refer others to me. And, I am always here to help refer you to someone that is a better fit if that's the case. The goal is to get you where you want to be in your life - and I will assist in any way I can.
