Being a protestant minister prior to becomming a mental health therapist has helped me see the value in including spirit in the counseling process as saught by the counselee but only at their discretion.
Guilt, shame, blame are toxic to personal well being and are often intertwined within the client requiring balanced religious perspective or purely psychological world view as determined by the client not the therapist.
