Healing Those Issues That Keep Re-Emerging
When someone is having trouble overcoming an issue, they are often carrying old beliefs, feelings or memories that are contributing to (or are at the "root" of) the current problem. I help clients gently release and heal the underlying beliefs and patterns that are intertwined with their current situation. As these are released, they feel a growing sense of lightheartedness and well-being. They see their lives from a fresh perspective and begin to genuinely accept and appreciate themselves. This enables them to shift their old patterns and make the positive, new changes they have been longing for.
I interweave the therapeutic approaches of hypnotherapy, EMDR, body centered techniques and energy work. These modalities are extremely effective in releasing subtle or deep emotions, beliefs, memories and physical tensions. There is often an ease and fluidity as clients let go of limiting beliefs and patterns and open to a felt sense of comfort and vitality in their body.
"Anne," a recent client, is a good example. Anne is a middle-aged woman with much ability and potential. However, she was often very stressed and anxious and had a sense that "something was missing" in her life. She struggled with finding fulfilling work and dealt with recurring bouts of illness and insomnia as well as intermittent conflicts in her marriage. She began therapy stating she had a longing to relate to her life differently. She was tired of feeling uncertain about her life and trying so hard to make things work and yearned to find more fulfillment and self trust.
Through EMDR, hypnosis, and communicating with messages held in her body, she began to touch and heal earlier memories, emotions and beliefs. She realized that unconsciously she held many deep beliefs, such as that she wasnt "good enough" and "life needed to be a struggle." She let go of tensions in her body, accumulated over years of stress. Specific energy work treatments for PTSD, self esteem, anxiety and physical ailments assisted greatly.
The healing of these old issues and patterns led to significant changes in her life. She experienced a genuine sense of "okayness," inner calm and confidence. This new sense of herself helped her to relate to life differently - with more relaxation and trust - as she had been longing for. These shifts, in turn, affected her relationship and enabled her to feel more empowered. She was surprised to find that her health and sleep also greatly improved. With her new outlook she was able to create very satisfying, purposeful work and to connect with her enthusiasm and passion for life.
