Chronic Aches and Pain Can Be Responses To Excessive Stress

While a certain amount of stress in our lives is unavoidable, we should not get so used to it that we overlook or deny when it’s reached unhealthy proportions.

Chronic stress can eventually wear down the body's natural defenses which then manifests in a range of "warning sign" physical symptoms.

Physical symptoms that can be warning signs of too much stress include:

*Dizziness, feeling "out of it" or easily distracted

*Ongoing aches and pains with no real medical cause

*Teeth grinding, clenched and/or sore jaw

*Frequent headaches

*Indigestion, upset stomach

*Marked increase in or loss of appetite

*Muscle tension in your face, neck, shoulders and/or back

*Difficulty sleeping

*Racing heartbeat

*Cold and sweaty palms

*Fatigue, exhaustion, drop in usual energy level

*Trembling, feeling shaky

*Weight gain or loss

*Sexual difficulties

When chronic stress is the underlying cause for our physical symptoms and it goes unchecked, we become susceptible to developing serious physical, mental and/or emotional problems.

Take your body’s physical symptoms as very real warning signs and make plans to talk with your doctor and/or a therapist as soon as possible.
