Deanne Shartin, Ph.D. (cand.)

Deanne Shartin has an extensive background in professional writing and editing in the field of psychology.

In addition to her work at 4therapy.com, Deanne is currently editing a journal of essays that apply a mythological studies perspective to present day mental health issues. She is also co-authoring a cross-cultural book of poetry that includes art and prose by children from more than thirty countries worldwide.

Prior to her writing career, Deanne served as Executive Director for two notable nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles, CA, dedicated to strengthening the lives of children in institutional care. She also founded a nonprofit organization that provides art therapy programs to under-served populations of children.

Deanne is a Ph.D. candidate at Pacifica Graduate Institute, California, earned her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, and received her undergraduate degree from University of California, Los Angeles.
